Yorkshire Lawn & Garden is an independent introduction service. We connect homeowners with self-employed local gardeners and garden businesses across Yorkshire. We are not a gardening contractor, we do not employ gardeners, and we do not carry out the work ourselves.
For requests made through the new assessment, you agree that a summary and postcode area can be shown to gardening businesses. After you confirm your enquiry, one suitable business can buy the introduction and receive your contact details and written brief. We tell you which business has taken it and share its contact details with you. There is no charge to you for the introduction and no obligation to hire the business. An enquiry does not guarantee an available gardener, an appointment or completed work. We ask before making a replacement introduction.
Prices shown on this site, including hourly rates, price ranges and worked examples, are indicative guidance based on typical Yorkshire gardening rates. The final price is agreed between you and the gardener directly, after they have assessed the job. Nothing on this site is a binding quote unless it is confirmed to you for your specific job.
Any contract for gardening work is between you and the gardener, not between you and Yorkshire Lawn & Garden. In the current direct-payment model, you pay the gardener directly unless a specific quote or payment page says otherwise. If a platform payment page is introduced for a job, any extra payment terms shown there will apply to that payment.
We take reasonable care to put your enquiry in front of a suitable operator for your postcode and the work you describe. As part of operator onboarding, we may ask for relevant insurance, licence details, reviews, references or examples of work. You should still confirm any important insurance, licence or specialist qualification directly with the gardener before booking, especially for tree surgery, waste removal, chemical treatment, hard landscaping or higher-value work. We are not responsible for the quality, timeliness or outcome of the work itself. If something goes wrong, please raise it with the gardener first. If you cannot resolve it directly, email yorkshirelawn@gmail.com and we will try to help.
Some outdoor work produces runoff. Pressure washing and jet washing, chemical, biocide or weedkiller treatment, and any job that can put water, detergent, silt or plant material into a drain all fall into this. Under the Water Resources Act 1991 it is an offence to allow polluting matter to enter a surface water drain or a watercourse.
The gardener carries out the work and is the supplier of it, so that duty is theirs. They are responsible for controlling runoff on site, for containing or disposing of wastewater lawfully, for holding any waste carrier registration or licence the job needs, and for using any product in line with its instructions and the relevant regulations. Yorkshire Lawn & Garden introduces you to the gardener. We do not carry out the work, we do not supervise how it is done, and we are not responsible for the gardener's environmental compliance. If you want to know how wastewater will be handled on your job, ask the gardener before they start.
Cancellation terms should be agreed with the gardener before work starts. Where you have paid the gardener directly, any refund is handled between you and the gardener. If we have helped coordinate the job, we may help pass messages, record the issue, or offer a replacement introduction, but we cannot guarantee a refund or a particular outcome.

You may use this site to request a quote for genuine gardening work at a property in Yorkshire. Please don’t submit false details, scrape the site, or use the form for anything other than requesting a quote.
